Food Review: Eggspectation

Over the Valentines Day weekend, a few of my close girl friends and I decided to treat ourselves to a little girls night out.
We booked a hotel, got all dolled up, opened a bottle of wine and had an amazing Galentines day of girl talks, drinks, dancing, take out and face masks.
What a night!
However, the next day, tired and hangry, we were in desperate need of a good brunch.
Originally, I had my sights set on Old School, a diner style restaurant located in Downtown Toronto. Unfortunately, we were really lazy that morning and wanted to go somewhere closer!
So I pulled out my phone, googled a few places and… ta-dah!
I found Eggspectation!

Drama Review: Good Times (大好时光)

Another day, another Hu Ge drama

Recently, I’ve developed a bit of an obsession with Hu Ge, and so I started watching all of his recent dramas! While watching “The Disguiser”, I decided that I needed to take a break from all the melodrama and find something lighter and less stressful to watch.
While Good Times/大好时光 was definitely lighter, it wasn’t necessarily “less stressful”!

With Valentines Day coming up, I thought that this post would be super appropriate!

Ah Valentines Day. You either love it or you hate/don’t care for it, there is rarely ever an in between!
If you’re pro Valentines Day, you’ve probably had quite a few good experiences related to that day. However, if you don’t care too much about it like myself, it’s probably because you know that
1) you don’t need a designated day to express your love
or 2) you’ve been single for most of your life and everything related to love disgusts you.
(Can you guess which one I am?)
Regardless of which one it is and whether you’re single or in a relationship, today we will be talking about the importance of loving your own, darn self!

Beauty Review: VDL Lumilayer Primer

My “secret” to glowing skin!

During the summer months in 2015, I was fortunate enough to travel to China and South Korea on a vacation with my two best friends!
While I was really looking forward to the actual vacation itself, I was EXTREMELY excited to hit up the beauty stores in South Korea!
South Korea is home to some of the most amazing skin care and makeup brands in the world!
There’s a reason why the “K Beauty” look is extremely popular these days with its dewy healthy glowing skin, minimal natural makeup and bright soft lips!

Food Review: Sansotei Ramen

When I think of comfort food, Ramen is the first thing that comes to mind!
For those of you who have yet to discover this magical Japanese dish, Ramen is essentially noodle soup that’s cooked in a rich creamy (usually pork bone but it varies) broth topped with a bunch of different toppings such as egg (soft boiled ones are the bomb!), green onion, fungus, seaweed, corn etc. etc.

Ramen has become increasingly popular over the last few years, especially in downtown Toronto where quite a few stores have opened up that have an impressive queue daily!
While there are a few varieties of different restaurants and locations downtown, there aren’t very many options to choose from in the greater Toronto area if you’re craving a bowl of this delicious soupy wonder.

Enter Sansotei.

Movie Review: Our Times (我的少女時代)

Warning:
This movie is longer than my post

Helloooooo Internet!
I am back with a review!
This time, instead of doing another gripping drama I will be reviewing a Taiwanese movie called Our Times/我的少女時代 which offers more of a girl meets boy/will they won’t they type of plot!
A few weeks ago, I was over the moon when I realized that my local movie theater was playing this movie! After stumbling upon the movie trailer online, I have been dying to see it!
Although the movie was a little different than I expected, it was not an entirely awful Sunday night choice!
